ESSER III Grant Plan Use of Funds
Big Springs Charter School is fully committed in ensuring the safe return of students to in-person instruction. All persons health and safety, entering the Big Springs Charter School Campuses, will be of first priority. The ESSER III Grant will provide monies that will allow the school district to fully implement safety measures for anyone entering the facilities and to support students that were academically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Below are the planned activities that have been suggested by the ESSER III Grant committee which convened on June 2, 2021 to discuss uses of the grant and completed a district wide “Comprehensive Needs Assessment”
Purchase of new vehicles with air-conditioning units for air circulation, to include busses and mini-vans.
Additional custodial staff (2) needed to maintain cleanliness of school buildings.
Additional computers and laptops needed for online learning and tutorial programs.
Indoor quality, purchase of foggers (mist that disinfects classrooms, hallways, buildings.
Indoor quality, purchase of air purifiers.
Student Academic Support:
Additional staff members (7) needed for the recovery of academic loss during the pandemic.
Addition of 6 aides,1 special education teacher.
