Governance

Albert Hernandez Jr., serving as the Superintendent of the Big Springs Charter School district, has spent more than three decades working in education in the great state of Texas. Fourteen of those years he spent as a teacher himself.

Mr. Hernandez, or, "Mr. H" as the children know him, earned his A.A at Southwest Junior College, his B.A. at the University of Texas at Austin, his M.Ed at Sul Ross State University, and is currently working on completing his Ed.D at Aspen University. He started his career at San Antonio Archdiocese, Sacred Heart Catholic School, and Uvalde CISD

(Insert story about how you started at BSCS here)

His personal interests consist of anything that is related to Star Wars, rock concerts, and spending time with his two daughters, his wife, their two dogs, and their cat.

Education isn’t just something that stops at graduation. It’s a lifelong journey. Anyone that spends any time with Mr. Hernandez will immediately know his passion for preparing children for that journey and encouraging them to Do the Right Thing. He is personally involved with all aspects of the district, and applies a hands-on approach rarely seen. His purpose is literally as it is stated in the Big Springs Charter School mantra; Inspire, Lead, Succeed.
